LCSO Prepares for Busy Water Weekend

7/21 With hot summer temperatures comes water recreation and associated dangers
JULY 21, 2010 -- A trio in a canoe ran into trouble Wednesday on the McKenzie River. They were all wearing lifejackets when they tipped in some rapids. None of them were injured.

With temperatures rising, the Lane County Sheriff’s office says they’ve received many calls for help from people who weren’t as wise as the canoeing trio.

KUGN’s Eric Dye discussed boating safety with the sheriff’s office Wednesday night on KUGN News at 5.
